Details: The Apple Watch Series 6 models look almost identical to the Apple Watch Series 5 they replace, but they have a faster architecture and add an "always-on" altimeter and a blood oxygen (SPO2) sensor. They also offer a variety of new finishes and watch band options. This model, the Apple Watch Series 6 (Aluminum, GPS, 40mm), lacks wireless cellular capability, but the highest-end model in the series is also capable of connecting to the internet without a "tethered" iPhone for some features. This "GPS" model is required to be connected to an iPhone 6s or later running iOS 14 or later. All Apple Watch Series 6 devices are controlled with a Digital Crown with haptic feedback and a touch-enabled display.
